Frimley Green Carnival Balloon Challenge Update

Tony Vincent (Flying Banana)

Sam and dad ChrisOn Friday November 14th, Sam Duddridge (aged 12) and his Dad Cris (LaserBlueExige) joined Tony Vincent (flying banana) at North Wield Airfield to participate in a Walshy Activity day. Sam won the inaugural Balloon Elise Challenge competition at the Frimley Green Carnival earlier in the year, with a guess of 150 balloons, just one shy of the actual total of 151.

It was Sam's first experience of an activity day and although he was a bit nervous at first, he soon settled into the passenger seat to enjoy the delights of the High Speed Bend, the top and bottom circuits and also the full sprint circuit during the course of a day that started with a damp surface and much spinning, but which was blessed with sun for much of the day.

Sam sent the following note: "Thank you Tony for taking me to the track day yesterday. I really enjoyed it, it was the first time I have ever been on anything like that. I was a bit frightened at first about being sick but I was okay and I didn't feel sick at all. The best bit was doing the doughnuts on the circuit and also doing the hand break turn at that corner, it was great."

Although the doughnuts were not necessarily intentional, a great day was had by all. The Balloon Elise Challenge raised over £150 for local charities as part of the Frimley Green Carnival. Thanks to everyone who participated.
